OIT announced that the Georgia Tech network experienced a very high volume of traffic, which overwhelmed one of their firewalls between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2008. All users of the Georgia Tech network and systems that run on the network, including web-bases services, were affected. As of 1:15 PM, November 11, the network was back up. OIT is working to determine the source of this traffic. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
