Dear Colleagues,

With regret I must inform you that Russ Poole, director ofthe Technology Services Organization, will leave the College for otheropportunities, effective Aug. 7. Since he arrived in 2006, Russ has beenresponsible for tremendous improvements in our computing infrastructure.Working often with last-generation equipment and always with limited budgets,TSO under his guidance has made huge strides in service reliability and desktopsupport. Among Russ? accomplishments are:

·bull; Acomplete overhaul of hardware and software systems

·bull; Distributionof on-site desktop support to the College?s three physical locations

·bull; Provisionof additional infrastructure support for the College?s substantial researchneeds

·bull; Outsourcingof services such as email and calendaring to free up resources for researchneeds

After Russ? departure, Mike Luttrell will step in as interimdirector of TSO, and Larry Beckwith will remain director of facilities.

On behalf of the College, I?d like to express our gratitudeto Russ (and his team) for their work of the past three years and wish him wellin his future endeavors. We will hold a farewell event for Russ on his lastday. Stay tuned for further details.
