For troubleshooting purposes, the TSO Help Desk will sometimes ask for the full headers of an email. Here's how to obtain those.
Outlook 2011 (Mac)
- Right click the mail message. If you do not have a mouse, hold CTRL (Control) and click the mail message.
- Select “View Source” from the right click menu.
- A new TextEdit document will open containing the entire contents and headers of the message. Click anywhere inside.
- Press Command + A to select all the text in that field.
- Press Command + C to copy all the text in that field.
- Paste the copied text in your response email and send.
Outlook 2010 (Windows)
- Double-click the mail message so that it opens in its own window.
- Click the File tab. Select the Info tab, if not selected.
- Click the Properties button. The headers are at the bottom of the Properties window in the Internet headers field. Click anywhere in that.
- Press CTRL + A to select all the text in that field.
- Press CTRL + C to copy all the text in that field.
- Paste the copied text in your response email and send.
