An updated Institute Password Standard will be published on January 31, 2013.  The only substantive change being made is the password length requirement will now be eleven characters long instead of eight.  This change is a requirement of the State Department of Audits, who conducted a security audit of the campus recently.  Passport will be modified to require the new eleven character password starting on January 31 as well.  Users will NOT be forced to change their passwords all at once.  As current passwords  expire, users will be required to select a new password which complies with the new standard.
