WHAT HAPPENED?
Email delivery on the Exchange server is delayed.


WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Since approximately 10:40 AM, Thursday, April 14, 2011.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
GTRI's Barracuda spam filtering appliance is under heavy load and a RAID array in the email infrastructure is being rebuilt, causing email to become backed up in the queue.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty and staff Exchange and BlackBerry users.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required. Affected users should expect delays in email delivery until the issue is resolved.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No. GTRI is working to restore normal functionality. They estimate it will be several hours until normal service is restored. Email is being queued and not lost.
