Shortly before 8:20 AM on Monday, July 7, 2008, TSO received a report regarding an office machine on the 1st floor of the CCB that did not have network connectivity. The issue was investigated, and it was discovered that a UPS in the CCB 1st floor North data closet had failed, resulting in 4 network switches going offline. The switches were plugged into an alternate power source and were again providing connectivity at 9:10 AM on July 7.

The outage affected the northwestern part of the 1st floor of the CCB, including the States lab, the 1371 TA office and helpdesk, and a portion of the commons area.
